Will Atheism Eventually Replace Religion

Ken Pulliam runs an excellent blog called … Why I De-Converted from Evangelical Christianity.Ken is obviously very intelligent and i  really like reading his blog because his study goes into lots and lots of detail and is very well explained.

Just lately Ken did a post called, Will Atheism Eventually Replace Religion . See Here : http://formerfundy.blogspot.com/2010/06/will-atheism-eventually-replace.html

Sure its a fact, Atheism eventually replacing religion likely wont really do a lot to change any present matters of faith for the likes of some people like me, who so happens were born with faithful parents who happened to belong to the exclusive Brethren cult or many other abusive faith. But still life is not all about whats of benefit right now to me, and so if Atheism replacing Religion means maybe less of these abusive faiths will exist with a bit of luck in the future . Then naturally of course im all for it !. I simply would not ever wish the bad luck on anyone to need to be brought into this world by the will of their parents , and possibly have need to face that by a random stroke of bad luck they will also need to struggle with all the extra problems placed before them , simply because this society we all live in allows freedom of faith which in turn then also allows for the existence of abusive cults .

It might have been nice if maybe a larger number other folks in this society might have actually of cared enough, to maybe even rise up and bother trying to at least try taking some real honest action to intervene , specially those who all stand on the sidelines! claiming to supposedly be the “real” Christians etc. But still …Alas it seems faith causes such a deathly quiet,  a terrible deadness of parts of the brain that humans usually use to be sceptical and reason and plan with . That as my life’s progressed and gone by ive slowly come to need to accept the fact a normal life was never ever going to be any real option for me , and ive realized my life and much of the possibility of normal lives for my two kids too , has been sacrificed for the rights of the many other faithful folk of this world to still have their  rights to all their yet unfounded dreams of there actually being some supposed salvation and actual place called heaven and hell etc.

For the rights of these faithful , people like myself born to faithful parents in cults , must need to sacrifice our own lives on this earth with any chance we had in this life to have lived our own rights to have lived resonably normal lives. This is just the price some of us on this earth must have to pay at present, while faith still exists running rampant and unregulated and unruly as it does do.

There was never anything i could ever actually do to change these things. At times i might have hoped for some sort of uprising to happen and take effect and change matters,  just as i would also imagine many slaves and those who suffered from racism might have also yearned to live long enough to actually see . But as time went by i  had to accept that matters of faith are some what different , and the more and more faithful ive discussed these matters with, on many blogs and what not, the more and more ive slowly come to realize and see, faith makes many of these faithful folks to suffer much the same type of dead uncaring attitude that also works at deadening my own family’s attitude within the abusive cult known as the exclusive brethren .

So to be honest though im not faithful and no longer believe in there actually being any Gods ,   i do think it would actually be a tremendously great blessing if some how it were ever possibly that through atheism this world in future could slowly rid itself of the nasty curse of faith in the idea of Gods and salvation in some supposed afterlife .That there might in future be some renewed hope, that at least people then in those future times!, will then be spared the frustration and suffering and often even long-lasting pain some people in this world at present must have need to face as a type of sacrifice for the ignorant idiotic un-thoughtful rights of other people to keep hold of their unfounded dreams of some supposed eternal salvation in an unproven afterlife.

So anyway please do read this post written by Ken, which shows there is actually still very mixed feelings about what the future will actually bring. I hope maybe others will find his blog as interesting and informative as i do.

About ExEB

I'm a agnostic/atheist . Interested in learning more about science. I also am an "ex-member" of a group most publicly known within modern times, as the Exclusive Brethren. Whom are an off-shoot of the original Plymouth Brethren group. I'd say it likely my personality could possibly be described as quirky. You know ,as in being , unconventional , unorthodox , unusual, off-centre, strange, bizarre, weird, peculiar, odd, freakish, outlandish, offbeat, out of the ordinary, bohemian, alternative, zany I'm sure iv'e been classed as "crazy" . Many times But then, being born into a group like the exclusive brethren. Doesn't lend itself ? to tend to produce things considered as being "very normal" .Does it I escaped the Exclusive Brethren cult as a 15 year old teenager. Even since that time iv'e been trying to adjust to living life outside the cult. With much of my life being lived within the genre of "wild colonial boy" style. In the general sense of a church-rebel picking and choosing from role models who appeared within-life along the way. But as the exclusive brethren cult had traditionally maintained a general church-rule , of need to shun and totally excommunicate any ex member of their group.Treating such people as if they were dead. Thus this situation developed more to do with my need of following traditionally enforced church-rule , as apposed to it being so much about "life-choices". Certain emotional experiences, and parts of life in general, have led to me adopting a sense of low self esteem. Which is a situation i still deal with from time to time. Through my ongoing interest in science. I find i am able to gather more information to help me better understand my situation. Much about life for me, has often seemed like a massive puzzle. With many missing pieces.
