MP Robert Halfon And Freedom Of Religion

Robert Halfon a British MP is presently involved in wanting to help uphold human right, to have freedom of religion.

It sounds great news to hear, even if in this particular case it’s mainly dealing with the freedom of religion situation ,as it stands within England. But this may even be a test case, that could also have a roll on effect elsewhere too. Maybe even within New Zealand .

To be quite honest about this , i question if real “freedom of religion” ,  even exists.

Let start by considering that once upon a time awhile ago, it were even freedom of religion ,to accuse, convict , when supposedly putting witches to death . People had faith in what they did, and often considered it were about freedom of religion.

Until such time as people voted against such practices . Removing such right , making it then become known as an illegal practice . At least within some countries today anyway.

So how can they even claim to be upholding real freedom of religion ? . If this is the modern situation as it now stands.

In my own opinion the idea of true existence of real freedom of religion , almost seems to become ? a bit of an oxymoron. How free ? is free . While on the other hand they are obviously sometimes also willing to be using regulation .

Some double standards been put into use there, isn’t ? it.

The christian bible talks about casting demons out of people , whom in these more modern times are now known to have been mentally disabled . And science has taught us it is often much more about peoples life situations , and aspects of their genes what causes them this problem.

So should people still be allowed their freedom of religion , ,to try and casting demons ,out of people whom may only be mentally disabled.

What matters most ? , is it to be right of freedom of religion . Or the humanitarian right that people should not ? be subjected to ongoing situations that may cause many of them extreme harm.

When we start down this track soon enough we begin to see that any real true honest total freedom of religion cannot really even be said to have been allowed. For indeed it would be likely to be causing somebody some extreme harm, sooner or later. Just as we now know how it obviously did , within ancient times gone past.

For indeed there was also once a time , long ago now, when the practice of human sacrificial bloodletting , may have also been considered ,as some people’s “religious” rights too , being upheld . Under this banner of freedom of religion as well.

So should we go backward ? and start to allow practice of human sacrifices, once again?. It would then at least surely be about upholding of a far more closer form of “freedom” of religion , right ?

Surely not . Surely us humans have out-grown this sort of ancient ignorance , stubbornness ,and total disregard of the extreme harm done to human life.

Otherwise , maybe we are still acting a little like barbarians of ancient times .

If MPs and faithful folk decide to say , well this freedom of religion , still doesn’t need to mean , religion should have “total” freedom . It’s obvious that some things just cause us far too much harm . And this sort of harm , will need to out weigh people’s right to make demands they would still keep this particular sort of religious freedom.  Like they already did, with the ancient religious right of human sacrificial bloodletting.

We would understand this . But many faithful folks eyes will tend to glaze-over, and their ears will have slammed shut tight, while still wanting to bullshit themselves ,that right of complete freedom of religion still totally exists. Yet as ive already explained above, it obviously doesnt.

Sadly they seem to need to do this, maybe because to them the act of  retaining freedom of religion , still seem to matter a whole lot more ,than honestly caring about some people causing people so much extreme harm , often seems to do.

How extremely sad ? is that . Here we even often have some people claiming to honestly be Christians as well. In the old days they might have even been classed , as disciples of Jesus or something. Following within his footsteps . Bringing forth the Christian testimony , acting as a role-model , even among pagans ,and the agnostic atheists like me.

Yet here some are today . Gripping on to right of freedom of religion . At any cost . Even if it need be at cost of continually allowing freedom of fundy groups who’s been splitting and dividing families , even husband from wife , and even worse parents from children. Sometimes ending in suicides .

Much ongoing faith-harm, of many differing degrees , continually happening within certain people’s lives . Happening in the name of God . A terrible thing thats so harmful.

See here and here and here and there are a number other ex-church forums too , such as the ex Christadelphians and West Bro baptists and suchlike .

Human lives ,world wide . Being harmed , by religious faith ,and often in some very extreme ways too. This is not something that can continue to be considered as something that’s only ever  always so-scarce anymore . It happens too often . And its well due about time now , that some more caring kind people stepped up to the plate , also started to want to really take a good look into it. Even if they are personally unaffected ,themselves . Only when we decide it time to care , in enough numbers ,will such change begin to happen.

And why don’t they ? , unless it’s because ,there just is not enough people around yet ,who thought that they too really needed to care.

People may say well its about the degree of harm being caused that makes the difference. They may say ,these people being harmed ,are not being killed within human sacrifice . So its not so-bad

Such people are sad people. Cause to them it seems extreme harm , can only ever  be ? about death .

These people might do well to read through some scholarly information about the extreme ongoing effects that such faith abuses will have . Before ? they decide that it’s always so honestly true that only death causes us more extreme harm

If i simply decide to put somebody to death. Or else decide i will keep them alive ,and use years and years of torture and psychological abuses on them .

Then whats far worse ? , death or life .

Maybe you might like to visit ? Robert Halfon’s blog , to tell him what your opinion is  ( but please try keeping it nice . Dont trade abuse ,with more abuse)

Or you might even like to send Fiona Bruce an email , , as it seems she has now signed the Early day motion 398 too

Much like the act of woman bashing, and marriage rape , that at one time long ago, much of humanity simply used to be prepared to just turn a blind eye to ,and allow to continue . Didnt begin to stop either ,until more and more unaffected humans became actively interested themselves.

These ongoing faith abuses won’t stand much of a chance to ever begin to stop either . Until more of the unaffected people start taking an interest themselves .

About ExEB

I'm a agnostic/atheist . Interested in learning more about science. I also am an "ex-member" of a group most publicly known within modern times, as the Exclusive Brethren. Whom are an off-shoot of the original Plymouth Brethren group. I'd say it likely my personality could possibly be described as quirky. You know ,as in being , unconventional , unorthodox , unusual, off-centre, strange, bizarre, weird, peculiar, odd, freakish, outlandish, offbeat, out of the ordinary, bohemian, alternative, zany I'm sure iv'e been classed as "crazy" . Many times But then, being born into a group like the exclusive brethren. Doesn't lend itself ? to tend to produce things considered as being "very normal" .Does it I escaped the Exclusive Brethren cult as a 15 year old teenager. Even since that time iv'e been trying to adjust to living life outside the cult. With much of my life being lived within the genre of "wild colonial boy" style. In the general sense of a church-rebel picking and choosing from role models who appeared within-life along the way. But as the exclusive brethren cult had traditionally maintained a general church-rule , of need to shun and totally excommunicate any ex member of their group.Treating such people as if they were dead. Thus this situation developed more to do with my need of following traditionally enforced church-rule , as apposed to it being so much about "life-choices". Certain emotional experiences, and parts of life in general, have led to me adopting a sense of low self esteem. Which is a situation i still deal with from time to time. Through my ongoing interest in science. I find i am able to gather more information to help me better understand my situation. Much about life for me, has often seemed like a massive puzzle. With many missing pieces.
