Gobsmacked Christians

Many faithful folks seem to remain gobsmacked in total-disbelief. At the action of Bruce Hales and the Exclusive Brethren cults, inability to make change.

Read threads where discussions take place on ex eb sites like this one here and you can often see the level disbelief. Often being expressed on a number of threads (site cited under fair use law)

We can see the level of disbelief on the blog i cited in my last post too. With even comments from Joan pointing out how the Exclusive Brethren tactics seem to be about “delay, deny and defend” (cited under fair use law)

And in comments on this blog here Brother Rev is shaking his head in disbelief in regards to actions of MP Peter Bones .(cited under fair use law) Who is evidently involved in the Church of England.

So we can easily see how faithful-people are gobsmacked in disbelief in regard to this ongoing situation.

But i wonder. Is their ? astonishment really warranted . Is it been well thought through.

I would say for their level of astonishment to be really warranted. In regard to the way the Exclusive Brethren type cults carry on. Then surely we should expect things to be known as being very different among other christian domination’s .

Most often it seems to me that a big majority of these people seem to be astonished at the delay and deny defend type tactics that the EB (exclusive Brethren) use.

So seeing this level of surprise about how this eb cult acts. Then we might have good reason to expect that maybe other domination’s have traditionally acted very different.

Thus if the eb act in a way of delay deny defend . We should thus have experience the opposite of this with other domination . Meaning they would be known as domination’s that easily admitted matters, without delayWithout bothering to defend.

If Joan is the person whom i think she may be. Then i’d say she is someone in fellowship with the Church of England . And in being involved with Church of England practices. Then little doubt Joan should also be very well aware of the Church of England’s tradition of delay deny defend . Like in regard to how long it had taken for them in getting around to finally admitting the full extent of sex abuses . She would also understand how it also took around 150 years , for the Church of England to finally get around to decide on making an apology to Charles Darwin too. And more

The thing is . Faithful folk in general, traditionally ,really don’t have such a great track-record when it comes to acknowledging-matters and moving-forward . Do they ?

No they don’t.  (and the Church of England is most likely one of the better groups)

Take the acting of killing and burning people at the stake for instance . They remained continually involved in this sort of practice , even in places like England . For ages as well .

Even with those matters. Many theists could always find certain bible verses to help support these sort of practices if need be.

Little different to how the EB will also be able find certain bible verses, to help support the ongoing-abuses they still involved in themselves today

My point is this . Faithful folk really have no good reason to feel gobsmacked the way they do .

For in doing so . Surely? they only help re-prove some scientific studies like these here

There is very-little good reason to be at all surprised at the way the exclusive brethren act . For in many ways, they are only a mirror of religion in general.

Until religion in general becomes more-willing to admit this . We wont be very likely to make big-progress , anytime soon.

Religion in general . Is acting much like a stubborn-parent , that doesn’t want to accept having any part , in the downfall of its sibling.

Its sits there pointing and poking fingers of blame at its offspring . Totally unwilling to stop and consider its own part in the outcome.

Actions of the Exclusive Brethren type cults, are really not so-far-out of character with the rest of Christianity in general

About ExEB

I'm a agnostic/atheist . Interested in learning more about science. I also am an "ex-member" of a group most publicly known within modern times, as the Exclusive Brethren. Whom are an off-shoot of the original Plymouth Brethren group. I'd say it likely my personality could possibly be described as quirky. You know ,as in being , unconventional , unorthodox , unusual, off-centre, strange, bizarre, weird, peculiar, odd, freakish, outlandish, offbeat, out of the ordinary, bohemian, alternative, zany I'm sure iv'e been classed as "crazy" . Many times But then, being born into a group like the exclusive brethren. Doesn't lend itself ? to tend to produce things considered as being "very normal" .Does it I escaped the Exclusive Brethren cult as a 15 year old teenager. Even since that time iv'e been trying to adjust to living life outside the cult. With much of my life being lived within the genre of "wild colonial boy" style. In the general sense of a church-rebel picking and choosing from role models who appeared within-life along the way. But as the exclusive brethren cult had traditionally maintained a general church-rule , of need to shun and totally excommunicate any ex member of their group.Treating such people as if they were dead. Thus this situation developed more to do with my need of following traditionally enforced church-rule , as apposed to it being so much about "life-choices". Certain emotional experiences, and parts of life in general, have led to me adopting a sense of low self esteem. Which is a situation i still deal with from time to time. Through my ongoing interest in science. I find i am able to gather more information to help me better understand my situation. Much about life for me, has often seemed like a massive puzzle. With many missing pieces.
