PETITION AND LETTER CIRCULATING TO PROTECT FREEDOM OF RELIGION IN EUROPE

On the World Religious News site , Margaret Rose Becker did an article titled. Quote :

“HUMAN RIGHTS IN ACTION: PETITION AND LETTER CIRCULATING TO PROTECT FREEDOM OF RELIGION IN EUROPE” http://www.worldreligionnews.com/issues/human-rights-action-petition-letter-circulating-protect-freedom-religion-europe

end quote

Where she says Quote :

“This afternoon I came across a petition online that I could not help but sign—and I strongly urge you to do the same.

Sometimes we may take for granted that freedom of religion is a fact for everyone in our modern society.

But the truth is that the protection of human rights (including freedom of religion) only becomes a reality if we make it so: if we stand up for our persecuted brothers and sisters in their most desperate times of need.

Now is one of those times. ” end quote

We totally agree that freedom of religion shouldn’t be something taken for granted. So we wonder why, so much religious tyranny has been continually allowed the right to split and divide families over faith beliefs.

People on this site say they have “concern” for religious “freedom” . So we wonder when ? they might have signed a petition to stop religious tyranny. That cults and religious groups have harmed people with, for very many generations now already

They discuss the need to stand up for “persecuted brothers and sisters in their most desperate times of need

So has ? the World Religious News, ever done any articles, also discussing how many suicides are being caused by these ongoing faith abuses.

We surely hope so

Lets face it. There sure is plenty of “persecuted brothers and sisters in their most desperate times of need” existing all around the world

Isn’t ? that so true

Some being forced to exist, in situations that are far worse than some others are forced to deal with, of course. But still never the less, faith abuses surely are far more widespread than they really ought to be. In this year 2014

When will ? people care enough, to want to take positive action to fix it

Margaret goes on further a little later in her article to also note

Quote : “Probably the most impressive letter voicing outrage over this legislation comes from the International Religious Freedom (IRF) Roundtable. ”

end quote

Which we then went and read with real interest. And saw that Individuals involved, had thought to point out key points that they felt were important to highlight

Of which we felt one key point was particularly important . That key point being as follows

Quote : “Freedom to manifest one’s religion or beliefs shall be subject only to such limitations as are prescribed by law and are necessary in a democratic society in the interests of public safety, for the protection of public order, health or morals, or for the protection of the rights and freedoms of others” http://gallery.mailchimp.com/3fbaf5394ea6c973add28939e/files/IRF_Roundtable_Multifaith_Letter_on_Salles_Report_March25.2014.1.pdf

end quote  (my bold added above)

We feel it is indeed in the interest of public safety, that religion is regulated to some degree, so that it doesn’t cause detrimental harm to the general public. And when religion is involved in the cause of psychological abuse. It is indeed also harmful to the general public to some degree . Because for one thing, it adds to pressure being put on our mental health systems. It also means that there will be more people existing within the general public, that will then have mental health issues. Mental health issues that are not easy to cure.

Therefore these issues are about public safety and health

And these health and public safety issues ,in these instances also tend to stem, from the fact that someone’s religious freedom, has been denied .

I would say there is plenty of data available now, to help prove that this is the case. It has been compiled and collected all around the world within mental hospital patient files , doctors patient files . Even within data of files connected with the court custody cases, where those being denied freedom of religion, have been forced to fight/apply for , access rights to see their own children

I mean lets face it . Freedom isn’t always gained , by allowing people right to exist within systems that lack regulation . For if that were the case ,then freedom of life ,might also need to include a deregulated road-law.

If road use was unregulated. Then would that help? humans to achieve right to retain their freedom of life . Or not ?

Of course not . For freedom needs to involve, some forms of regulation

Anyway we thought the matter interesting enough, for us to want to try and discuss this with Margaret Rose Becker , via use of the comment system. On the article at World Religion News.

We posted two comments.

1. The first comment we had made, that we saw had gone through into moderation. We later on realized, that we had also failed to spell check properly.

Below is a copy of the World Religion News comment system we kept, of the first comment that had been made by us. Also showing how our comment had surely made it through, into the moderation-system

As that lonk to the International Religious Freedom (IRF) Roundtable. point’s out.

key points: “Freedom to manifest one’s religion or beliefs shall be subject only to such limitations as are prescribed by law and are necessary in a democratic society in the interests of public safety, for the protection of public order, health or morals, or for the protection of the rights and freedoms of others. ”

So to be actually able to protect the “safety” and “health” .Of the minors . Then obviously they may also need to be taking more measure

    end quote

We thought, that “spelling error” might be the reason, why our comment had not been approved.

Next day, we then made a second comment. As detailed below

As that link in the International Religious Freedom (IRF) Roundtable article, point’s out.

key points: “Freedom to manifest one’s religion or beliefs shall be subject only to such limitations as are prescribed by law and are necessary in a democratic society in the interests of public safety, for the protection of public order, health or morals, or for the protection of the rights and freedoms of others. ”

So to be actually able to protect the “safety” and “health” and even the “freedom” .Of the minors . Then obviously they may also need to be taking some more measures. In the protection of minors against excesses of sects

Allowing there to just be total unregulated right to religious freedom. Doesn’t necessarily help to uphold the human right of religious freedom. Neither does it protect the safety and health.

    Do you think ?

end quote

Usually, after someone makes a comment. Even while the comment is still waiting in the moderation system . The person who made the comment, is meanwhile still able to return back to the site from time to time , to see the comment that was made ,and see whether the comment is still waiting (in the moderation system) until being approved. Or not

Yet both times, both comments we made would seem to have fully disappeared. As if they have just been ? deleted or something.

Who knows for sure. But it sure seems a little bit suspect

We have many past experiences, with trying to enter into ongoing discussion with theists.Sadly we have found that sometimes, some theist’s, can tend to just want to totally ignore anyone else’s comments, that they really don’t like hearing being voiced.

Lets remember ,that even some other’s, also speak about having some of these very same problem’s . For just one instance . See here http://plymouthbrethrenchristian.blogspot.com.au/

I could find more instances too . For some reason, there seems to be a common occurrence. Where by comments, are being overly censored.

And this . Too often from the very people whom also declare how they are interested in upholding “freedom”

Whats ? with that then

Why ? should government’s, and government agency’s , be inclined to take these types of people seriously.

Right now.I really cant see why they should.

If it were the other way around. And government was denying them the right to have a voice . They would more than likely scream how they feel they are being oppressed .

Wouldn’t ? they

I’m pretty sure they would

People who would publicly claim to wish to help uphold freedom. Who would then also “seem” to go out of their way to deny it . Really cannot be taken too seriously. Can ? they

Sure i understand, sometimes, there might still be some other explanation. Just maybe . I understand that

But still .Even so.Surely it cannot be denied. That there still also seems to be a pretty common occurrence , in regards to the way it seems these people like to deny someones freedom . While also demanding that they have the right to retain it for themselves

What kind? of justice is this then

And yet they will all scream from the roof tops, if our governments don’t care bend to their demands

I suggest . They are fast becoming a public embarrassment unto themselves. They help uphold forms of tyranny. While also demanding to retain the freedom to continue to do so, as well

They scream about the evils of totalitarian regimes . As if they think that they don’t already exist .Like they do, within closed groups, and Cults, involved in these ongoing faith abuses.

These people must surely have their heads buried deep in a hole in the sand.

They ought to be ashamed

 Update :

We received this reply from World Religious News

Quote:

All comments on World Religion News are held for moderation prior to posting. They must be moderated by a human, so that’s why there’s a delay. Your comment with corrected spelling was approved earlier today. As for the comments not showing in your Disqus profile, that’s an issue you’ll want to take up with Disqus.

end quote

So we then wrote away to the support group at Disqus, to inquire why it might be, that our comment didn’t show up on our Disqus profile

To which they replied. Quote :

“Hi Gandolf,

Thanks for reaching out.

To clarify, only approved comments will appear in your profile. All of your comments, including deleted and pending comments, will appear in the Me tab of Disqus Home (https://disqus.com/home/).

If you have any separate questions, please start a new case with us at http://disqus.com/support and we’ll be happy to help.

Disqus Product Support “

end quote (my bold)

So they suggest that only comments that are approved , will be those that will also then appear on the Disqus profile. And especially note how they also pointed out that any deleted comments wont appear

So in our opinion. Something still seems a little fishy .

This scenario of our comment being deleted and sent to the trash bin, would seem to also help explain, why it was that we had noticed how our comment had seemed to disappear from sight totally, even from within World Religion News , moderation process as well.

Comment’s existing within moderation process , are purposely made visible, even to the person of whom had made the comment . For good reason,so that people making these comments, won’t be tempted to decide that maybe they may need to re-post , and try again.

The most simple way, that could help explain the whole scenario of what happened. Would be to think that first-off the World Religion News ,had decided to just trash our comment. That is until we pointed out a little later on, here on this blog post, how we had also thought to keep ourselves a screen-shot copy of the comment we had posted.

————————————————–

Update : Upon further discussion with World Religious News . I now accept that it would seem there was in fact nothing fishy going on. I wish to apologize and also retract my suspicion that something had seemed fishy. Whats more, i can see that one of my comments does now seem to appear on my profile as well too. So still not quite sure, what might have went wrong there, with that particular aspect .

About ExEB

I'm a agnostic/atheist . Interested in learning more about science. I also am an "ex-member" of a group most publicly known within modern times, as the Exclusive Brethren. Whom are an off-shoot of the original Plymouth Brethren group. I'd say it likely my personality could possibly be described as quirky. You know ,as in being , unconventional , unorthodox , unusual, off-centre, strange, bizarre, weird, peculiar, odd, freakish, outlandish, offbeat, out of the ordinary, bohemian, alternative, zany I'm sure iv'e been classed as "crazy" . Many times But then, being born into a group like the exclusive brethren. Doesn't lend itself ? to tend to produce things considered as being "very normal" .Does it I escaped the Exclusive Brethren cult as a 15 year old teenager. Even since that time iv'e been trying to adjust to living life outside the cult. With much of my life being lived within the genre of "wild colonial boy" style. In the general sense of a church-rebel picking and choosing from role models who appeared within-life along the way. But as the exclusive brethren cult had traditionally maintained a general church-rule , of need to shun and totally excommunicate any ex member of their group.Treating such people as if they were dead. Thus this situation developed more to do with my need of following traditionally enforced church-rule , as apposed to it being so much about "life-choices". Certain emotional experiences, and parts of life in general, have led to me adopting a sense of low self esteem. Which is a situation i still deal with from time to time. Through my ongoing interest in science. I find i am able to gather more information to help me better understand my situation. Much about life for me, has often seemed like a massive puzzle. With many missing pieces.

  1. All comments on World Religion News are held for moderation prior to posting. They must be moderated by a human, so that’s why there’s a delay. Your comment with corrected spelling was approved earlier today. As for the comments not showing in your Disqus profile, that’s an issue you’ll want to take up with Disqus.

    • ExEB says:

Thanks for supplying that explanation. We already understood that comments would need to go through the process of human moderation. In fact ,for some time, after posting the comment , we could still even see for ourselves, that our comment was in fact still waiting within the moderation process. But then after awhile, that changed. And we saw that we could no longer even see, that our comment was awaiting moderation anymore . Thus it had seemed almost as if,maybe a human might have already processed the comment, to some degree.

We agree, it seems a little strange, that the comment also doesn’t even show up on the Disqus profile. As it usually has done, every other time before.

We are now looking into trying to find out why this may have come about

  2. I think you’re blowing this out of proportion. You made two comments. They were almost exactly the same, except one was misspelled and the other was spelled correctly. When our staff reviewed pending comments, the proper spelling was approved, and the incorrect spelling was deleted because it was obvious you made a spelling mistake, realized the error, and submitted the same comment with the error corrected. There’s nothing “fishy” going on here. Your comment on another article was also approved.
