Pauls ministry -qualified oversight, plurality of leadship, accountability to elders ,and local governance

It can be a tough road to dare to tread. For people who have an opinion they may like to discuss, around religious circles. How? do we find a way to discuss issues, freely, without needing to cause anyone any offense.

It’s not easy.

Yet if people cannot feel free to discuss issues. Then what happens if someone feels they may have a point that actually is at least worth mentioning. But may feel far too afraid to offend someone

Especially if you are an atheist.

It’s quite possible, many folk are automatically only ever going to see you, as just being an upstart.A trouble maker.Someone who is out to destroy the glory of God.And so on

Theism doesn’t have such a great track record. With regard to freedom of speech and suchlike. They really don’t like those folk who rock the boat.So little wonder they nailed the man from Galilee to the cross

Jesus talked about how some people will be cast out of synagogues.Mentions how people who think they do God’s work, will even want to kill you off.Tells us how there would come a time when Christians would become really hated

Go figure !

Does anyone? need to be God, before being able to “figure” how that’s pretty likely to happen

No.For all that is needed .Is use of some analytic thought. And a good dose of common sense

Christians were bound to be hated in time.Given that it were already well known, even back in Jesus time, that they (theists) dont even much like to allow freedom of speech

Jesus also said . Quote ”

Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.

For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.

And a man’s foes shall be they of his own household.

end quote

Go figure !

How would it be likely? to be any other way.If he/we would have already known, how religious folk do have a track record. Of often being types of people who really dislike even hearing, anyone with an alternative opinion

Once again. No need? to be God

No.Just use of some good old common sense really. Isn’t it.That’s all that is/was needed

Anyway. As i was saying. It’s hard to say what we would like to say.Without fearing to offend someone.Especially when its most certainly not in our intent,to do so

But yet ,some things do really need to be discussed. So we hope they will understand

Over on wikipeebia. There is a Christian who goes by the name Fisherman.A most lovely chap.Someone who is caring and kind.Someone who helps out the poor and the widows, and even is a father to the fatherless children. And much more

I think a lot of this guy.In many ways he is everything, that i wish i could be.

But sometimes i just feel, that maybe he overlooks certain issues.

But i refuse to join wikipeebia. For starters they have their forum rules at the top of every page, with warnings, saying that people are not allowed to make copies of what is being/been said there.

Now i happen to know enough about theists. To understand that theists are not always trustworthy folk. And in the past i even made copies of what people had said.

Why?

Well so as i can have information to back myself up, if ever need be. Cause i happen to know, that especially around cult circles.Sadly this can be an important factor.

So that’s just to explain to people, why i would refuse to sign-up and join in on their discussion ,over there.

However i do understand there is another reason for them doing this. And that can be because they know how brethren can be the type to want to sue people.Especially ex members.

Just pointing that out.So as to try being fair

Anyway.

This is what Fisherman has said on wikipeebia

Quote :

Eventually it catches up with them though, because in the end, nobody gets away with anything, but in the meantime there is huge damage from being involved in a church that is NOT based on Pauls ministry -qualified oversight, plurality of leadship, accountability to elders ,and local governance-all the normal things you would expect to see in a bible based church.” http://wikipeebia.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=481&start=10

end quote

What i wonder is this. Is/was the ? Catholic church based on Paul’s ministry.Or what about the? Church of England.Or ? Baptist churches.Other? mainstream churches

See the thing is this.It seems to me that a number of different abuses seem to have still found ways to fly beneath the radar (so to speak). No matter what kind of “checks” that the church folks have put in place.Even within mainstream churches. Because it seems like, maybe someone can still find some cheeky sly way, to be able to slip away silently, under the safety net.

And that fact that “one day” , it may “eventually” catch up with them. Really isnt good enough. Is ? it . Not when the harm has already been done

I’m sorry if this doesn’t sound like a great thing to hear. Especially coming from one of us horrible atheist outcast folk. But still , it’s something that really needs to be said.

Because its true. Its the reality of matters

We are not trying to be disruptive.Or nasty.Or anything like that

And hey. We might have mentioned it within the theist forums. If we felt like we had the freedom of speech. If we felt we were welcome to mention such matters.

But we don’t feel things are that way.

Crazy thing is this. Obviously Jesus didn’t just want to kick all those scummy non believing atheist, out in the cold.Did he. Or how else ? can Judas be explained

If Jesus was God. Or even a man of great insight. Then he must have also been somewhat aware that Judas lacked faith.

And Jesus never kicked Judas out

But hey unfaithful people exist everywhere. They surely do still exist even within many churches today.

Yet for some weird reason. Some theist’s still want to see honest atheists.Like they are obviously the greatest scourge of the whole earth

Whats? with that then

It’s almost as if, they wish to award those dishonest folk. And punish people for trying to be, straight up

149-homer-facepalm

Is that? perhaps something, that seems a little bit insane, or what

But at heart, really we do still love them faithful folks. It’s just not always,so easy to do,is all.

Cause something feels wrong. When you try to feel love toward folks.Who would seem to want to despise, and almost hate you in return

It’s not easy.We don’t make any claim to have personal relationships with “supernatural” forces. We also freely admit to our downfall, of just being totally human, with all our imperfection.

We are not animals. And yet even animals are known to be prone to bite or kick out.If they feel mistreated

Anyway. How? will these sort of issues, ever have hope to change for the good.If theists wont accept that their checks obviously don’t work.

How many? will need to suffer abuse. How? many will need to commit suicide.

Before theists will have finally come to the conclusion , that something more needs to be done

The year is now 2014

Millions of earthly lives have been harmed, within faith abuses

How many? more will it take

Can theists honestly say?,that they would feel like they can go to their graves.Feeling like they have actually lived by the whole parable being told by Jesus, within Luke 10:25-37

We atheist really don’t have any good reason to fear Jesus. Its theists that really worry us most

About ExEB

I'm a agnostic/atheist . Interested in learning more about science. I also am an "ex-member" of a group most publicly known within modern times, as the Exclusive Brethren. Whom are an off-shoot of the original Plymouth Brethren group. I'd say it likely my personality could possibly be described as quirky. You know ,as in being , unconventional , unorthodox , unusual, off-centre, strange, bizarre, weird, peculiar, odd, freakish, outlandish, offbeat, out of the ordinary, bohemian, alternative, zany I'm sure iv'e been classed as "crazy" . Many times But then, being born into a group like the exclusive brethren. Doesn't lend itself ? to tend to produce things considered as being "very normal" .Does it I escaped the Exclusive Brethren cult as a 15 year old teenager. Even since that time iv'e been trying to adjust to living life outside the cult. With much of my life being lived within the genre of "wild colonial boy" style. In the general sense of a church-rebel picking and choosing from role models who appeared within-life along the way. But as the exclusive brethren cult had traditionally maintained a general church-rule , of need to shun and totally excommunicate any ex member of their group.Treating such people as if they were dead. Thus this situation developed more to do with my need of following traditionally enforced church-rule , as apposed to it being so much about "life-choices". Certain emotional experiences, and parts of life in general, have led to me adopting a sense of low self esteem. Which is a situation i still deal with from time to time. Through my ongoing interest in science. I find i am able to gather more information to help me better understand my situation. Much about life for me, has often seemed like a massive puzzle. With many missing pieces.
