Tolerance among Christian and ex cult members

On one ex eb site where a number of people often gather together and take part socially. And they may have any number of own reason  for joining up with this particular group too.Like perhaps it could just be for company,or perhaps to try to reconnect with other ex cult members that have either left or been excommunicated themselves by a Brethren group.Or perhaps they liked to get actively involved with other ex cult members who now are all taking all kind of action, so as to help society become more aware of cult issues, or even to help give support to any other cult remember who might like to attempt to follow in the footstep of other ex cult members whom have already left the cult behind. And so on

Naturally some will remain Christian, or some might even now feel like they had only actually first became a real Christian once they had left the Cult behind. Some may now have become agnostic. While others may now have become atheist. And so on

This is normal. This is what people the real world consist of ,well at least outside of walls of echo chamber like groups it is what is considered fairly normal. And many intelligent people are able to find a way to understand this, these people wont feel totally offended if they happen to come up against people with alternative ideas and belief that differ to their own belief  .

(Perhaps also interesting to now also stop here an make a note, how the words echo chamber and totally offended, ive ended up highlighting both in red . Consider this, living existing within an echo chamber can help cause people to begin to feel totally offended in regard to any action of other people who don’t exist within said echo chambers walls.Becoming a highly active member of an echo chamber can then also begin to help cause other people to also begin to feel offended as well so as to then also help cause those other people to tend to become an echo chamber member themselves as well too)

Doubly interesting to now also make a special note too. Galatians 5:9

Quote :

A little leaven leaveneth the whole lump

https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Galatians+5%3A9&version=KJV

end quote  (Please also note: i don’t need to think twice about reason for my act of quoting philosophy contained within holy books.Because philosophy is also exactly what i look upon it as being. No more.Good philosophy,an then also sometimes bad philosophy as well too,yet ideas that certain intelligent humans, of past times, have already pondered over. I merely choose to sift the chaff from the wheat)

Anyways, back to what i was getting to before. It should be a normal part of humanity that us human would, by now, surely be adult enough to understand why this world is bound to always contain some people whom may disagree. Intelligent people can figure out why there is good reason this might happen. In fact even Jesus is portrayed as being intelligent enough himself ,to have easily understood reason why it should be seen as being quite ok, with all of us,for us to all see and experience, sometimes, how some people among us may be likely to disagree

Obviously one highly important excellent reason why, is this. Human should need to be free to feel free to disagree, reason being is that if more people had felt free to disagree, then obviously perhaps there might also be far less chance that abusive dangerous cults might ever been able to find the fertile type of evil ground in which to then plant their seed of evil division

This is how highly important this kind of freedom obviously is

In times past. These fertile ground of bigotry have already been the cause of murder, like when there was people been burnt at the stake, upon being accused of involvement in heresy .Or upon being accused of sorcery or witchcraft .And more

Most importantly (well in regard of believers interest anyway) this form of blatant and most ugly bigotry was also the fertile type ground upon which within Jesus himself was accused an also sent to die on the cross for

This is how totally ugly an blatantly abhorrent this ongoing curse is

Anyway, lately within one ex Exclusive Brethren social group, once again there is someone angry. Angry to need to see or experience opinion of other people, of which just happen to differ to their own opinion. Disharmony due to human difference of belief

Now i’m purposely removing the persons name from following quote of the person comment of which i’ll now be posting here below for interest sake ,simply because my honest intention here on this blog, has absolutely nothing to do with any personal attack on any particular person who commented.Fact is i don’t even know this person.I suspect (similar to myself) this person will have likely to have suffered themselves ,already, and due to fate of being born into a cult.I empathize with this person. I know how i do also still struggle myself as well too, somewhat sometimes, with sight or experience of anyones differences of opinion.I’m interested in discussing the issue .And not intent on casting stones at anyone in particular.Lets be honest with ourselves, let he who feels perfect cast the first stone ? .We are all still in the same boat here as imperfect human beings, the whole lot of us are, whether we may like to actually admit to it,or not

Here is one particular more recent comment for sake of interest. Note: there have been plenty of others beforehand previously too, from other people

Quote:

I can tolerate swearing and bad language, but blasphemy is a different thing, and God says he will not be mocked. As I wish to have no part in it I am now leaving this group.

end quote

Now obviously this particular comment ive quoted above, has been made by a believer.A  Christian believer (although that information isn’t made known within this comment).

Now my point im interested in putting forward for discussion is this. For interest sake  of discussion, lets now just consider implication with pondering what about if the person involved was an atheist. For interest sake of discussion we could suggest that perhaps their own somewhat similar comment, might be expected to possibly read something more like this

Quote:

I can tolerate swearing and bad language, but pretending a God might actually exist, is a whole different kettle of fish.Specially when as far as i can tell, from evidence of what i see readily available, all people’s faith in God seems to be more based around social culture of human to which children are born into. And more closely  connect to the fact that world wide people are being actively coerced to believe in any number of different Gods.So belief in God is culturally driven. And to make matters far worse, for myself anyway ,my own life and even the lives of my own children as well too, has been made worse and we have in fact all been forced to need to suffer badly, (in part) due to the beliefs of believers. So then when we hear believers active in pretending as if a God exist, then it can sometime begin to feel like as if the believers are actively also mocking the suffering of ours of what we atheist were forced to need to experience, by verbally pretending as if a God might exist of what might then be able to help save us . So i’m now throwing all my own dolly out of the pram too, an i’m now  copying like what i also often can see plenty believers actively doing themselves . An so im leaving from any further participation within this group

hrrrrrrmmmmphhhh !! (former participant also storms off throwing a self centered hissy fit too, feeling indignantly hurt while also being totally inconsiderate at same time  ,in regard to lack of any consideration as to whether perhaps some other people might even quietly also already long been feeling somewhat hurt themselves as well )

end quote  (Note to reader,my comment above, is way longer. But this is due to reason that i feel i’d need to  actually try and help explain the atheist position.Rather than just making demands)

Sad thing is that both people (both atheist or believer alike) are not forced to take part personally. Are they?. There is really no need for them to throw their dolly out of the pram. Instead they might choose to just concentrate more on their own ability to lead by their own example.

Think again about about what follow carefully

No body is being compelled to need to act in “any way” of what they may perhaps happen to see, or experience, what some “other people” might in fact be all “acting like” around about them. This in fact has a little to do with certain valuable aspect of freedom

True ?

Its to do with learning how not to need to be like sheep what act sheeple (IE:Daniel 1:8-21)

A worthy an “valuable” lesson. Right ?

Far too many human in our world today all act more like sheep. An partly because that’s also what their peers demand they should need to do (next thing, these peers will then be heard complaining about how they feel like children are guilty of all making far too many bad mistake. And yet many children are mainly making such mistakes, mainly because, they also hold fear to dare to be seen as being different. They don’t learn to ponder or question matters themselves, they mainly only learn how to become followers, much  like sheep)

Go figure ? (Like:who the hell might have thought that that might occur..hmmm..few people, when considering how most children are not encourage to learn how to think things through properly for themselves. Therefore also being bound to fail to make good decision)

Vicious perpetual circle of sheeple syndrome

Loads of believers, and especially the Christian kind of believer, all love to live as if they feel they are the only one who can act morally. Because the believer is also already been convinced that morality is  inspired by God

This belief is consoling to what they enjoy believing (IE: fact don’t matter,Evidence is easily overlooked, through glee of wanting to believe its true an even at any cost.)

But,if God inspire moral . Then how come there is so much evidence too ,to suggest that perhaps way too many believers are in fact fairly self centered inconsiderate bigoted type people , who’d  seem to often act uncaring and indifferent toward the different belief of other people that co exist around them ?

Unlike loads of believers, atheist do not tend to rely on intuition , an atheist is inclined to become observant of available evidence. Reference to that fact, is now available, with a number of scientific study ,for some information see https://digest.bps.org.uk/2018/01/26/are-religious-people-really-less-smart-on-average-than-atheists/  for one instance .Or here http://time.com/4038407/religion-intuition-deliberation/

Because we (atheist) are still looking to try and understand truth of matters. Our minds are not closed.Faith (intuition), may not be enough

Therefore we need to also watch out to see if we can observe discrepancy in what is claimed by believers .Like IE :Any discrepancy within the believers claim, that intelligence and therefore morals as well too are inspired by a God .A claim suggesting that we’d all have reason to also then expect to see that perhaps believers would in deed be likely to be both more intelligent, and also more inclined to be far more moral as well too

The fact is that the evidence available, just doesn’t match up what believers have constantly been claiming

1.Believers can often be seen claiming how (they feel/believe) God will put things right on judgement day. These believer will then naturally die feeling more peaceful, and mainly due to their faith belief that justice will still be able to served later on, in an eternity they have also come to believe exist . (Note :And yet evidence suggest this same feeling of peace/well being can easily be explained to naturally tend to occur, due to the placebo nature this act of faith. The same situation can also happen too ,ie placebo effect, even after use of fake medicine https://www.health.harvard.edu/mental-health/the-power-of-the-placebo-effect )

2 What if the faith is incorrect ? .What if there is in fact no God, and no eternity either?.

What then ?

Then how will justice ever be served ?

If no God exist. And no eternity exist either . Then all the cult abuses will obviously have been suffered all for nothing other than to serve to make

1 .many a cult leader become fitlhy rich via the suffering of their faithful followers

2 while loads and loads of believers, worldwide, will also have been rendered “peacefully complacent as well to boot

The problem is.Believers have long lived in a world where they’ve been spoiled rotten almost like what some children often are. They lived in this world where religion has been spoiled by privilege. They never learned to share the right of freedom. They demand to retain their own right to speak about their own faith freely, while also demanding that other people with other different beliefs would be expected to remain silent Privilege even extending to extent of freedom to cause faith abuse

Religion and idea of God is faced by aspect of mocking ,and for at least some valid reason . The valid reason being that this action serve to also help aid the faithful believer, to learn to understand that religion and “heart felt” idea’s of God , are in fact no longer any specially taboo subject of which is exceptionally privileged, exceptionally privileged so much so that it also shouldn’t ever face any aspect of ridicule or active dissent     .

Consider this

Exclusive Brethren “heart felt faith belief that their faith group is the only right position to exist. Is also heart felt faith belief as well too,  for these cult members

So then

Does that then make it also exceptionally taboo , to ridicule ?

Taboo is the fertile ground for all kind of nastiness to proliferate and prevail

…………………………………………………………………………………….

Update ,as far as i can tell, seems the comment in question (along with any reply or replys that might have followed up since, of what ive also missed seeing while ive been writing) whats central to my subject today, that had been previously posted on one ex eb social site, i now see seems to also have been promptly removed? . (so an instance of the Lord moving in mysterious ways perhaps?)

Sadly another thing about ex eb social sites, is that many who venture on there, perhaps also wont  like the idea that any of their own dirty linen, might ever be able to become publicly known.Which is something similar to some cult like antics ?

Ex Exclusive Brethren, to me, seem not keen to allow any of their own dirty linen to be hung out in public.I’m not sure what they would expect that this might help to achieve ?.Who knows for sure. Perhaps someone figure, its a wise idea, to try to pretend like “all” past bad habit, might suddenly disappear, once leaving cults walls?.

Meanwhile some may also still complain, about how they feel like they never ever see or hear of many ongoing members of Brethrenism, discussing issues of dirty linen freely. And plenty will understand why they can see how this is a real worry

Yet its totally ok to be imperfect .Even the bible and other holy books help record instances where earlier human being had pondered and accepted it as a human condition. But perhaps not so ok to pretend otherwise ?

Once people would feel free enough to discuss dirty linen , from there on out, the option has then also been presented to any ongoing attempt to discuss and make changes ?

Perhaps Exclusive Brethren, would obviously need to see, outsiders acting quite differently?.So therefore ex eb might perhaps really need to also be prepared to openly display (to any ongoing exclusive brethren members who might decide to take a wee peak to observe it for themselves) how  many ex eb can now actually attempt to walk the walk ,and not just talk the talk ?

About ExEB

I'm a agnostic/atheist . Interested in learning more about science. I also am an "ex-member" of a group most publicly known within modern times, as the Exclusive Brethren. Whom are an off-shoot of the original Plymouth Brethren group. I'd say it likely my personality could possibly be described as quirky. You know ,as in being , unconventional , unorthodox , unusual, off-centre, strange, bizarre, weird, peculiar, odd, freakish, outlandish, offbeat, out of the ordinary, bohemian, alternative, zany I'm sure iv'e been classed as "crazy" . Many times But then, being born into a group like the exclusive brethren. Doesn't lend itself ? to tend to produce things considered as being "very normal" .Does it I escaped the Exclusive Brethren cult as a 15 year old teenager. Even since that time iv'e been trying to adjust to living life outside the cult. With much of my life being lived within the genre of "wild colonial boy" style. In the general sense of a church-rebel picking and choosing from role models who appeared within-life along the way. But as the exclusive brethren cult had traditionally maintained a general church-rule , of need to shun and totally excommunicate any ex member of their group.Treating such people as if they were dead. Thus this situation developed more to do with my need of following traditionally enforced church-rule , as apposed to it being so much about "life-choices". Certain emotional experiences, and parts of life in general, have led to me adopting a sense of low self esteem. Which is a situation i still deal with from time to time. Through my ongoing interest in science. I find i am able to gather more information to help me better understand my situation. Much about life for me, has often seemed like a massive puzzle. With many missing pieces.
