Gloriavale members lose entitlement to family?

Check out the news video above

Two men have been expelled (ostracized) from Gloriavale cult, for daring to feel free to use cellphone.

One man, aged 34, who was in possession of a phone (which are deemed contraband), is been expelled and therefore separated from his wife and seven children, including a baby

Another man, aged in his 20s ,who had borrowed this phone, to use it himself,  has also been expelled as well too, he is separated from two children including a baby

The cult leaders don’t like Gloriavale cult members having freedom to use phones, for fear that using them, might then help Gloriavale members open their own minds

So you more or less don’t even own your own mind

The leaders see cellphone as a key tool to help enlighten people ?

Do they rather keep them confused and  ignorant?

All sorts of authoritarian dictatorships will use much the same method. Won’t they?.While members lack freedom of knowledge of the outside world. How will they learn any different?. How will they be able to know any better than the propaganda they are more or less being force fed?

How much different to this is it then https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dictatorship

Would a personalist dictatorship, description, perhaps be fairly close enough match?

I still remember, back, to how i had once felt myself .We were not allowed much contact with the world outside. No access to tv or radio or company with our non eb neighbor. No right to join sports clubs,or visit beaches,or go on holiday where we might miss out going to church every day, and all day long on Sundays

Meanwhile we were continually force fed with propaganda, so as to reinforce ideas in our confused minds about how evil the non eb worldly people are (just like what counties run by dictators, also will do as well too.So the population wont know any better) .

There were no cell phones back in those days. But if we ever even got spotted watching a tv , in a window, at some shop within a local shopping mall.

It would get us in big trouble. With the leaders.Any wannabe aspiring leaders would happily snitch on you . As they would then be treated like angels . While you, the so called sinner, would be treated like some devilish evil spirit

It was pretty much like living existing within confines of a faith gang

Freedom of conscience ? … pfffffffffffttttt

No such luck .

Entitlement to make up your own mind, as to whether outsiders were evil people or not ?

No way

Don’t even dare to question (well make sure nobody knows, you are, if you decide to try. Hide that cell phone, don’t dare let any cult snitch wannabe aspiring faith gang prospect leader, spot you)

You may lose your entitlement to loving contact with your wife and children

If you dare

Meanwhile outsiders, mostly dont even hardly bother to bat an eyelid . Because it doesnt concern their own lives

Even if you might be losing sleep. Worrying about how to leave, without losing your wife and children .Maybe your grandparents and cousins as well too

Perhaps you might as well be living in Uzbekistan?

At least you’ll mix more freely within the country you live

Gloriavale demands entitlement to chunks of worldly people’s tax money that the government holds. To use wisely

But they wont allow their own people to be entitled to use cell phones

Somethings mighty unfair and wrong

About ExEB

I'm a agnostic/atheist . Interested in learning more about science. I also am an "ex-member" of a group most publicly known within modern times, as the Exclusive Brethren. Whom are an off-shoot of the original Plymouth Brethren group. I'd say it likely my personality could possibly be described as quirky. You know ,as in being , unconventional , unorthodox , unusual, off-centre, strange, bizarre, weird, peculiar, odd, freakish, outlandish, offbeat, out of the ordinary, bohemian, alternative, zany I'm sure iv'e been classed as "crazy" . Many times But then, being born into a group like the exclusive brethren. Doesn't lend itself ? to tend to produce things considered as being "very normal" .Does it I escaped the Exclusive Brethren cult as a 15 year old teenager. Even since that time iv'e been trying to adjust to living life outside the cult. With much of my life being lived within the genre of "wild colonial boy" style. In the general sense of a church-rebel picking and choosing from role models who appeared within-life along the way. But as the exclusive brethren cult had traditionally maintained a general church-rule , of need to shun and totally excommunicate any ex member of their group.Treating such people as if they were dead. Thus this situation developed more to do with my need of following traditionally enforced church-rule , as apposed to it being so much about "life-choices". Certain emotional experiences, and parts of life in general, have led to me adopting a sense of low self esteem. Which is a situation i still deal with from time to time. Through my ongoing interest in science. I find i am able to gather more information to help me better understand my situation. Much about life for me, has often seemed like a massive puzzle. With many missing pieces.
