Brethren will react very similar too.

Do they?

They’ll drive all over the top of people lives, causing harm . Then they’ll claim that the victim are only just bitter people. And if charity commission would then refuse to issue the Brethren charity status, the Brethren will then claim that they are just being persecuted

Brethren still wont see anything wrong with their own ways?

Even when their highly organized group, had attempted to make a concerted effort to cover up evidence at an accident of what had caused death.  See info here https://www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/news/article.cfm?c_id=1&objectid=12015112

Brethren would still fail to be able to see/understand that there is anything at all so-wrong, with “their own ways”

Or what?

Narcissist wont bother with self reflection. They wont bother to judge inwardly. They’ll almost always be “completely” preoccupied with “their outward approach”, to application of judgement . This is reason why they’ll believe, that their “in-group” is separating from evil (IE: the application of judgment, is taking, only an outward approach)

They be so preoccupied with their “outward approach” to judgment, that they may even begin to laugh “about the reaction” of the very same people who they’ll have hurt along the way. Even so far as acting as if the victim are the ones whom must also be at fault, for their way of “even hurting”

Right?

They act in this way, due to how they’ll refuse to ever “look inwardly” (for to find alternative answer)

The cult members, including the Brethren cult member too, are the kind of people who will have “devolved socially”

They are travelling on a pathway of going backwards “socially” . Therefore even their ability for “awareness” is also been devolving as well too

They simply no longer have the “level of awareness” of what is required, so as to help people “to understand”

When we point these things out to Brethren

How do they usually react ?

They’ll usually go straight into the defensive mode

Wont they?

Never will step back out it, again, either (this is the worst problem)

There is therefore no little hope for change

They’d lose their cool, go straight on attack, and go into a huff and act as if “everyone else is always in the wrong about everything” but never themselves (in other words they’d allow that their own anger would serve to have furthered their lack of awareness, even more. By allowing themselves to be overcome by anger. Resulting in them then failing to ever be able to learn “anything about” where they’d been going wrong. IE: forming a “vicious circle of deeply entrenched unawareness”)

Which coincidentally is also the usual reaction for narcissists too

Because the Brethren refuse to apologize openly

They are therefore still continuing along their same pathway of their ” devolving sense of awareness”

No amount of education will help them to escape this lack of awareness either

Because

Even some highly educated people, can still lack in self awareness too

Education is not necessarily the complete answer

Education wont necessarily help develop ‘the self awareness” among human. Because, self awareness still require that the people themselves would first of all wish for themselves to be able to become more self aware

Self awareness come from act of continually wanting to become even more aware

It generally requires a sense of humility . Humility can help to create a-balance of the peoples self confidence

And education, can sometimes even help to create a few of the kind of people, who’d possibly be more inclined to think there be absolutely nothing more, that they’d ever have any need to learn about, themselves (which can serve to “create a block” between their own ability “for growth” in true complete self awareness)

People who’d think that education, is everything, might perhaps want to think again about that

We have large numbers of educated people within our world today.Population numbers of educated people has increased. Yet there is some evidence that narcissist population number is also been increasing too

As the video points out, growth in self awareness, first of all require that us people would “want to” become more self aware

Everyone would need to “want it” to happen

Anyone of us can just as easily also begin to lose touch with our sense of self awareness, too

Ive been trying to remember that

It first of all, requires us human “to be wanting to become more self-aware” (or otherwise it wont ever happen)

Even require that we’d wish to remain self aware

Brethren are not narcissists by choice

Are they?

But mostly will have developed a-narcissist traitdue to the pressures of “their cult environment” what they’ve been steeped within (IE: an environment of collective narcissism)

Any environment, lacking humility, can begin to promote growth in narcissistic traits too

I feel like this video seem pretty spot on. Even to the extent that it describes the side affect narcissist who’ll remain unaware about their own narcissism, will then even begin to have “flip side affect” on other-people who’ll be more self aware . Because of the way what narcissism can also become kind of like a virus . In other words , it can begin to “infect” any other people, who’ll remain in any kind of close contact

This is “reasons to explain why” there is the recommendation for us to “isolate oneself” from close connection, with people who’ll have narcissistic trait (because the narcissism can begin to rub-off on others)

Sadly, when the ex cult member, are still concerned about their families, of who’ll remain confined within the cults. Then its also ‘less easy”, for the escapee, to decide to “sever all ties” completely .

Why?

Well generally because of the way which the escapee will naturally still continue to care about their families . And would naturally still want to rekindle their relationships

My own reaction, after experiencing the Brethren review, was to feel anger (which of course is “one symptom” of the side affects, of aftermath of facing narcissist abuse, such as “the Brethren review” . Just like the-symptoms of narcissist abuse like what are being-described toward the end of the video above?)

The virtue of humility. On balancing self-confidence and self-awareness

I suspect that many things what i say here on this blog could be interpreted as meaning that i might be anti education

I’m not

I’m not anti education. But i do think that education is certainly not everything. I’ll sometimes wonder if perhaps its been highly overrated?. And would point to evidence of growing problems within our world today, and ask, if education is been everything that people have claimed it is, then who’s to blame for the amount of silly mistakes we see. Polished CVs provide leadership position.  Then who’ll have been overlooking big problems now encroaching on our door step

I sense that perhaps something has failed

Humility is a great virtue. Certainly is. Everyone of us has need for it too. But sadly, having contact with narcissists, can soon begin to put a strain on our own connection with humility. Being how narcissism trait has this tendency to spread like how a virus does. And so some of it “can begin to rub off on” us (if we are not extremely careful)

Human can choose to completely isolate themselves. And yet by “completely” isolating themselves, they’ll then also “remove any option” they might have otherwise had, to try and do something productive so as to help stop the virus “from spreading” further. And then, in the long run, there would still be nothing in place to protect themselves, from the virus spread. So the act of  isolating can only ever serve as a sort of “temporary” fix

These problems are huge. Generally human will choose to bury their head in the sand and try to live their life as if the problem wouldn’t even exist. Chances are that this is also partly explanation for why these virus still spread?. Human don’t seem to be aware of how a-part of themselves, will still continue to remain alive, within the lives of their own offspring, long they’ve been dead and buried themselves . And so therefore why everyone so many of us will choose to live as if “the problems” are of no concern of our own

Seems as if. We’ve all missed the point of how closely connected we all are.

About ExEB

I'm a agnostic/atheist . Interested in learning more about science. I also am an "ex-member" of a group most publicly known within modern times, as the Exclusive Brethren. Whom are an off-shoot of the original Plymouth Brethren group. I'd say it likely my personality could possibly be described as quirky. You know ,as in being , unconventional , unorthodox , unusual, off-centre, strange, bizarre, weird, peculiar, odd, freakish, outlandish, offbeat, out of the ordinary, bohemian, alternative, zany I'm sure iv'e been classed as "crazy" . Many times But then, being born into a group like the exclusive brethren. Doesn't lend itself ? to tend to produce things considered as being "very normal" .Does it I escaped the Exclusive Brethren cult as a 15 year old teenager. Even since that time iv'e been trying to adjust to living life outside the cult. With much of my life being lived within the genre of "wild colonial boy" style. In the general sense of a church-rebel picking and choosing from role models who appeared within-life along the way. But as the exclusive brethren cult had traditionally maintained a general church-rule , of need to shun and totally excommunicate any ex member of their group.Treating such people as if they were dead. Thus this situation developed more to do with my need of following traditionally enforced church-rule , as apposed to it being so much about "life-choices". Certain emotional experiences, and parts of life in general, have led to me adopting a sense of low self esteem. Which is a situation i still deal with from time to time. Through my ongoing interest in science. I find i am able to gather more information to help me better understand my situation. Much about life for me, has often seemed like a massive puzzle. With many missing pieces.
