Daniel Everett And The Amazonian Pirahã tribe

Daniel Everett was a Christian who joined a missionary organisation who sent him off to live with the Amazonian Pirahã tribe which the mission intended to try and convert to Christianity.I think it truly is a fascinating story and shows what utter rubbish it really is that man is lost without Gods . It really shows up the great ignorance and big-headed type attitude that God religion and faith brings out of people when they try and impose need of deceitful God faiths into people’s lives . One really wonders how many tribes once lived this way in relative happiness and peace until big-headed liars of faith came along with their God beliefs to try to convert and impose so as to place fear of suggestions of heaven or hell as manipulative mind control tactics devised to empower the leaders of these faith with ways to control people and then also get rights to extort wealth and valuable from among them.

And don’t we see things havent changed much today,Bruce Hales and such like still suck what they can . And even if the likes of Iain or Fisherman over there on peebs net try suggesting how wonderful their personal particular chosen flavours of Christianity may be with its fancy fang-dangle charity fund or whatever . Big deal its still often all about being just like another type of PR company and trying to be looking good and smelling all sweet and rosy .I mean why the need to have and promote any special big-headed divisional groups anyway ? ,whats so wrong with just being human and having a human faith like these Amazonian Pirahã people ? . Why do people like Iain and Fisherman or folks like that bother running down the Big-headed pig-headed nature of the Exclusive Brethren type divisional cults who happen to divide humanity ?, when they themselves happen to be promoting some other big headed faith group singing some of much the same type devisive tunes , that for some reason try suggesting faith can make some people better than others , because they warm pews under some special roof somewhere , or preform rituals ? . I mean whats the Rub ? . What gives ? .Whats honestly so very different other than having some slightly different frilly bits . A set of fluffy dice dangling under the rear vision mirror so you can think ohhh  look at me , im Baptist , Catholic , Protestant , Open Brethren , Islamic , Hindu , etc etc …don’t i look wonderful ,  just look at me ! i dont follow Ebism anymore.

Pffftt ! . Same type thing , still some of the same type bigotry involved in it ,  just a different flavour that’s all . Reeks of marketing bullshite , like selling ice cream wrapped up in a fancy wrapper . When folks should be promoting humanity without all the fancy fang-dangle wrappings that people don’t really need .Fancy wrappings that just create competitiveness and nastiness and arrogance and stupid suggestions of wrappings somehow having the ability to elevate humans into being some sort of special superhumans or something .

Anyway here some reading on Daniel Everett and the beautiful Amazonian Pirahã Tribe .Humans with honesty and humanity and no fluffy-dice or fancy wrappings .

http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2008/nov/10/daniel-everett-amazon

The neck of the woods where the Amazonian Pirahã Tribe live .

Smiling happy faces of some of their Kids . No Religion , no bullshite about my mum or dads better than your is because they is EB or Catholics blah blah and we warm special pews . No just smiles and living life and great memory’s of both good times and hardships spent together .

It makes me feel quite sick sometimes reading or hearing people chirp on about how wonderful their God is , and how great their particular chosen faith group be , and how wonderful they are at charity blah blah . Like salesmen trying to suggests humans need to buy some special fluffy dice and lolly wrapper to be fully human and live a decent life . Who the hell do these faith gits think they be to have the right to try suggesting being human aint anywhere near good enough ? . No freaking wonder folk like Stalin went crazy mad and become bloody angry and anti faith and started his own tyranny of trying to finally get rid of the pricks . I can fully understand that feeling , these scummy bastards are enough trouble to make anybody with enough decency who really dislikes this obvious divisive nature of faith , to get horribly angry about such utter bullshit that man can’t be good enough with having some God-belief. What an utterly disgusting big-headed arrogance such a stupid suggestion is .It’s exactly the reason why us folks find ourselves divided by these cults today ,because if folks didn’t begin such deceit and start to promote such utter crap , all these many flavours of divisive faith cults wouldnt even exist .

Anyway here is a video off YouTube about Daniel Everett and the truly Wonderful ! Amazonian Pirahã Tribe . Hope you enjoy it. Notice how this tribe found the idea that Daniel Everetts mother in law commited suicide or that people would commit suicide ,as really strange and so weird they found it funny. And bible verses that talked about cutting off peoples heads also weird .

And 4 more YouTube videos on the very same Tribe . (maybe some double up information)

About ExEB

I'm a agnostic/atheist . Interested in learning more about science. I also am an "ex-member" of a group most publicly known within modern times, as the Exclusive Brethren. Whom are an off-shoot of the original Plymouth Brethren group. I'd say it likely my personality could possibly be described as quirky. You know ,as in being , unconventional , unorthodox , unusual, off-centre, strange, bizarre, weird, peculiar, odd, freakish, outlandish, offbeat, out of the ordinary, bohemian, alternative, zany I'm sure iv'e been classed as "crazy" . Many times But then, being born into a group like the exclusive brethren. Doesn't lend itself ? to tend to produce things considered as being "very normal" .Does it I escaped the Exclusive Brethren cult as a 15 year old teenager. Even since that time iv'e been trying to adjust to living life outside the cult. With much of my life being lived within the genre of "wild colonial boy" style. In the general sense of a church-rebel picking and choosing from role models who appeared within-life along the way. But as the exclusive brethren cult had traditionally maintained a general church-rule , of need to shun and totally excommunicate any ex member of their group.Treating such people as if they were dead. Thus this situation developed more to do with my need of following traditionally enforced church-rule , as apposed to it being so much about "life-choices". Certain emotional experiences, and parts of life in general, have led to me adopting a sense of low self esteem. Which is a situation i still deal with from time to time. Through my ongoing interest in science. I find i am able to gather more information to help me better understand my situation. Much about life for me, has often seemed like a massive puzzle. With many missing pieces.

Quora at http://www.quora.com/Are-atheists-happy-that-Catholicism-may-prevent-suicide asks us atheists, if atheists are happy that Cathilicism may prevent suicide.

Seems that the Pirahã tribe dont seem to have much problems with sucides.

I think that maybe Quora doesnt seem to understand that its something within some our societies that seems to help cause people to suicide. And more often than not its within some of the countries with plenty of religion

  3. We characterize folks who have undergone a transformation such as Daniel’s as being “recovered.” The term is borrowed from the lexicon surrounding addiction inasmuch as religious brain patterning strongly resembles addiction. Rather like my friend Ryan who quit the Mormon Church, and religion in general. We might hear a remark such as, “I saw your friend Ryan at the Richard Dawkins lecture last evening; he’s the recovered Mormon, is he not?”

      Hi Mac.

      Interesting thoughts.

Im no expert on these matters. So cant really say whether you are right or wrong.

But i kind of think it could be atleast correct to say ,that yes “us humans” are indeed, kind-of “very much addicted” to wanting to keep on with “living” life. And so as humans have evolved , and the brains have also grown within their ability of “depth” of thought. And have thus noticed and comprehended that it seems that all “living beings” will also need to “pass-away” ,and thus die . It has been also a very natural instinct too , that the human mind would also try very-hard, in great depth of thought, and “pondering” in making-sense of such things . And thus with not finding this thing called death to be such a nice thought to accept. That thus us humans would also then become very kind of “addicted” to these ideas like “religion” , and would naturally become “very attracted” to any form of suggestion that suggested that there might be some way for the “human life form” , to be able carry on ,and exist forever.

So in that sense ,humans are adicted to thoughts of “living” . And are thus naturally apposed to thought of death and the idea that life for earthly “beings” really only ever lasts for so long.

In that sense maybe it could be said that its actually a natural instinct, for humans to want to be beleaver … And thus in that sense, maybe its also quite an “un-natural” thing too , for us humans to become atheists … Simply becuase , we humans dont like the idea of our lives only lasting for a certain lenght of time.

Thus why so many groups of humans, and their tribes ,have more often than not , been more likely to have all conjoured up these ideas of humans having ways of finding ever-lasting life . Which are then called “our relgion”

So yes i think in that sense . Religion is a human addiction.

Could you please excuse any of my bad-spelling and what-not . At present, im only able to use a computer , when im able to borrow-one . Such as when im down at the local library etc. So this also means im very-pushed for time. And thus as such i also dont really have the time , to do my spell-checks and such-like.

      Cheers !
