Over in Kansas in that big fine country the U.S.A creationism and the Christian Reich Right has had a bit of a uprising lately and the Kansas school board has voted for and approved new public-school science standards that cast doubt on the theory of evolution.
The 6-4 vote was a victory for “intelligent design” advocates who helped draft the standards. Intelligent design holds that the universe is so complex that it must have been created by a higher power. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/9967813/ns/technology_and_science-science//
Oh i see … how terribly scientific… something seems like its very complex so simply = it must be God ! . There thats all done and dusted
🙂 With types of thinking like this in such high places in our countries, is it really any great wonder humanity has often simply tried out all manner of weird and whacky beliefs .
Evidently there was this place known as hill (“har”) of Megiddo and so then they called it Har-magedon , and im told a type of faithful folk once lived there who believed that if they threw one of their live babies into a fire crying and screaming , the sacrifice would supposedly somehow bring more fertility for everyone . And so im picking as much as i understand so far this is likely where the Armageddon idea came from later on when talked about in the bible.
But can you even understand how the heck folks might have got weird and whacky ideas in their head, that maybe throwing live babies in fires might bring more fertility? . Well maybe its kind of a bit like this school board idea , something seems like its very complex so simply = it must be God . For faithful folks at the time back in Har-magedon it was…. oh this fertility thingy seems a bit complex?? …Oh well so = must need to throw live babies in fire.
Standard : Faith Science.
Educational deja vu
In 1999, the board eliminated most references to evolution. Harvard paleontologist Stephen Jay Gould said that was akin to teaching “American history without Lincoln.” Bill Nye, the “Science Guy” of children’s television, called it “harebrained” and “nutty.” And a Washington Post columnist imagined God saying to the Kansas board members: “Man, I gave you a brain. Use it, OK?”
Two years later, after voters replaced three members, the board reverted to evolution-friendly standards. Elections in 2002 and 2004 changed the board’s composition again, making it more conservative.
The latest vote likely to bring fresh national criticism to Kansas and cause many scientists to see the state as backward… on page 2 http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/9967813/ns/technology_and_science-science/page/2/
But oh well it still got nothing on the Exclusive Brethren Christion Reich Right .They dont only censor scientific matters of evolution nooo thats child-play . Easy peezsy stuff …. Nope they gonna removed and large parts of the curriculum – particularly anything to do with puberty and sex as well
Reich Right Thou Shalt Not Know Sex.
And because they dont allow folks to do university they havent produced any of their own teachers .So to run private Christian Cults schools subsidized by governments they need to hire in teachers from the outside.
Reich Right so they gonna need to make sure these teachers are pure enough by their books Reich Right?
A school where teachers received unexpected late-night visits at home to check on their moral probity.
